What LoRaWAN sensors for industry & buildings are available?

Door & Contact Sensors (Open/Close & Dry Contact)

Door and opening sensors reliably report whether doors, windows, or hatches are open or closed. The LDS02 and the DS03A series capture open/close status, while the CPL03 models offer a potential-free (dry) contact as an outdoor variant, also available solar-powered on request. The LHT65N-DS/-DC and LHT65S-DS/-DC models combine a door contact or dry-contact input with temperature and humidity measurement. Ideal for access monitoring, control cabinets, and building security.

Security & Alerting (Panic Buttons & Motion Detectors)

For safety-critical applications, Dragino offers LoRaWAN panic buttons: the PB01 in red (LR) and white (LW), as well as the freely configurable PB05 button panel. At the push of a button, they immediately trigger an alarm or status message. The LHT65N-PIR rounds out the category with a PIR motion detector featuring integrated temperature and humidity measurement, for presence detection and intrusion protection.

Current & Energy Measurement

The CS01-LB is a LoRaWAN current sensor with up to four inputs for the wireless monitoring of power consumption and load profiles, with no need to interfere with existing wiring. To match, the split-core current transformers SCT013G (100 A), SCT024 (300 A), and SCT036 (600 A) measure current flow without contact via the conductor. Together, they enable energy management and load monitoring in industry and buildings.

Machine & Equipment Monitoring (Vibration, Tilt, Pressure & Load)

For condition monitoring of machines and equipment, there's the LHT65N-VIB as a vibration/shock sensor, the TS01 tilt sensor (battery-powered and solar-powered versions), and the PS-LB-TG2-B pressure sensor in a threaded installation version. The LCC01-LB Load Cell Converter connects load cells wirelessly, enabling weight and fill-level monitoring via LoRaWAN. It's ideal for predictive maintenance and process monitoring.

Control & Visualization (HMI)

The LTS5 is a LoRaWAN HMI touch panel for controlling and visualizing IoT applications. It displays sensor data directly on-site and allows operation of connected devices.

Typical applications

Building monitoring & access control

Door, contact, and PIR sensors monitor entrances, windows, and rooms, reporting openings or movement in real time, a central building block for smart buildings and building security.

Energy monitoring in industry

Current sensors and split-core current transformers capture the consumption of individual machines or entire facilities and form the basis for effective energy management.

Condition monitoring of machines & equipment

Vibration, tilt, and pressure sensors detect operational deviations early and help avoid unplanned downtime through predictive maintenance.

Security & emergency

Panic buttons enable fast, wireless alerting in emergencies at workplaces, in medical practices, or in public areas.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about LoRaWAN Sensors for Industry & Buildings

Here we answer some questions about our building sensors. If you'd like personal advice beyond this, get in touch via our contact form.

LoRaWAN combines a long range of several kilometers with very low energy consumption. This makes it possible to cover large sites, basements, or plant rooms with just one gateway, without extensive cabling or a cellular contract.

A door sensor (such as the LDS02 or DS03A) uses a magnetic contact to report whether a door is open or closed. A dry-contact sensor (such as the CPL03 or the LHT65x-DC models) evaluates a potential-free contact and can be flexibly connected to different detectors, switches, or systems.

Split-core current transformers simply clip around the current-carrying conductor and measure the magnetic field without contact. The CS01-LB evaluates the signals and transmits the consumption data via LoRaWAN. There's no need to cut into the cable.

Yes. Many models, such as the CPL03, DS03A, or TS01, are available as weatherproof and, in some cases, solar-powered outdoor variants (LS), making them suitable for off-grid continuous outdoor operation.

A LoRaWAN panic button (PB01 or PB05) immediately sends an alarm message to the gateway at the push of a button. It's suitable for emergency call and assistance systems in workplaces, care and healthcare settings, or public facilities. These are IoT components, not certified emergency call or alarm systems (e.g., per DIN VDE 0834 or EN 50134).
