What products are available for the smart weather station?

9-in-1 Weather Station Sensor (WSS-09)

The WSS-09 is a 9-in-1 weather sensor that combines key meteorological parameters in a single device. It captures wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure, brightness, particulate matter (PM2.5/PM10), and noise level, among others. This makes it the core of a professional weather station.

Optical Rain Sensor (WSS-08)

The WSS-08 is an optical rain sensor that detects precipitation without contact and without a mechanical tipping bucket. It's low-maintenance and precise, even in continuous outdoor use.

RS485 Rain Gauge (WSS-21)

The WSS-21 is a rain gauge with an RS485 interface for measuring rainfall amounts. It integrates flexibly into existing measurement and control systems.

LoRaWAN Sensor Node (WSC2-L)

The WSC2-L-EU868 is the LoRaWAN sensor node for the WSS-09 and WSS-08. It reads the connected weather sensors and transmits the measurements wirelessly via LoRaWAN, turning the sensors into a connected, smart weather station.

Typical applications

Agriculture & agrometeorology

Local weather data supports irrigation, sowing, and harvest planning. The data is captured wirelessly, even across large areas without a power connection.

Smart city & environmental monitoring

Municipalities and operators monitor precipitation, wind, and climate in real time, for example for heavy rain early warning systems or environmental monitoring networks.

Research & building technology

Whether for measurement campaigns, roof and facade monitoring, or building automation, the sensors deliver continuous weather data for further analysis.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Weather Sensors

Here we answer some questions about our weather & climate sensors. If you'd like personal advice beyond this, get in touch via our contact form.

A LoRaWAN weather station combines one or more weather sensors with a LoRaWAN sensor node. Measurements are transmitted wirelessly and energy-efficiently over long ranges to a gateway, without cables and without a cellular contract.

The WSS-09 combines nine measurement parameters in one sensor, including wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure, brightness, PM2.5, PM10, and noise level. Precipitation is captured separately via the WSS-08 or WSS-21.

Via the WSC2-L-EU868 sensor node: it reads the WSS-09 and WSS-08 and sends the data via LoRaWAN. A LoRaWAN gateway is required to receive the data.

The WSS-08 works optically with no moving parts and delivers pulses (0.1 mm) to the WSC2-L's counter input. The WSS-21 outputs the reading via RS485/Modbus, using the RS485 bus instead of the pulse input.
