What LoRaWAN distance sensors are available in the product range?
Ultrasonic Distance Sensors (DDS Series)
The Dragino DDS45 and DDS75 models are ultrasonic distance sensors with LoRaWAN transmission. They measure distances non-contact and are suitable for applications such as level monitoring, object detection, and distance measurement at medium ranges. The DDS04, as a 4-channel variant, simultaneously captures up to four measurement points. Battery-powered (LB) and solar-powered (LS) variants are available.
LiDAR ToF distance sensors (LDS series)
The LDS series uses LiDAR Time-of-Flight technology for high-precision distance measurements. The LDS12, LDS25, and LDS40 models differ primarily in their measurement range and features. The LDS25 also features an Auto-Clean function that automatically cleans the lens—perfect for dusty or humid outdoor environments. Battery- and solar-powered versions are also available here.
Radar Distance Sensors (MDS Series)
The MDS120 and MDS200 models are microwave radar distance sensors with LoRaWAN. Radar sensors operate independently of lighting conditions, dust, fog, or rain—making them particularly robust for challenging outdoor conditions. Suitable for level measurement, water level measurement, and industrial distance monitoring.
Smart Distance Detector (DS20L)
The Dragino DS20L is a compact LoRaWAN distance sensor that is easy to set up and ideal for simple detection and monitoring tasks. Use it, for example, for presence detection or as a trigger for automated processes.

Typical Applications for Distance Sensors
Level Monitoring
Ultrasonic and radar distance sensors are ideal for non-contact level measurement in tanks, containers, and silos. They transmit measurement data wirelessly via LoRaWAN, even over long distances.
Water level monitoring
Radar distance sensors from the MDS series reliably measure water levels in rivers, canals, and retention basins. They operate reliably even in rain, fog, and changing light conditions.
Object Recognition & Presence Detection
The DS20L is a compact LoRaWAN distance sensor suitable for detecting objects or people, for example, to control automated processes or as intrusion protection in outdoor areas.
Industrial Distance Measurement
LiDAR sensors in the LDS series provide precise distance measurements for demanding industrial and infrastructure applications—including those where a laser distance sensor is used with Arduino or other microcontrollers.
