The XL-MaxSonar-AE2 offers the best wide-to-narrow beam ratio and a good balance between small and large target detection. The XL-MaxSonar-AE2 is suitable for virtually all indoor applications, including: person detection, large target detection, long-range detection, and applications requiring high noise tolerance.
The sensor is small, but its high acoustic output combined with continuously variable gain, automatic real-time background calibration, real-time waveform signature analysis, and real-time noise suppression algorithms result in virtually noise-free range measurements. This is true even in the presence of many different acoustic or electrical noise sources. The XL MaxSonar AE sensor line is factory-tuned to the sensor's beam patterns, providing a long-range detection range.
