The XL-MaxSonar-AE0 offers the widest and most sensitive beam pattern of any Maxbotix indoor sensor. This makes the XL-MaxSonar-AE0 an excellent choice when wide-beam detection, reliable person detection, or reliable detection of small obstacles are required.
The sensor is small, but its high acoustic output combined with continuously variable gain, automatic real-time background calibration, real-time waveform signature analysis, and real-time noise cancellation algorithms result in virtually noise-free range measurements. This is true even in the presence of many different acoustic or electrical noise sources. The XL MaxSonar AE sensor line is factory-tuned to the sensor's beam patterns, providing a long-range detection range.
