The XL-MaxSonar-EZ1 offers lower hardware gain and a smaller, narrower detection zone than the MB1200. This makes the XL-MaxSonar-EZ1 a good choice for person detection applications.
The sensor is small, but the high acoustic output power combined with continuously variable gain, real-time automatic background calibration, real-time real-time waveform signature analysis and noise reduction algorithms result in almost noise-free distance readings. This also applies in the presence of many different acoustic or electrical noise sources. The XL-MaxSonar EZ sensor line is factory-aligned to the sensor's beam patterns and provides long-range detection.
