What LoRaWAN developer tools & modules are available?

Development Kits (IoT Development Kit v3)

The LoRaWAN IoT Development Kit v3 bundles a gateway, sensors, and accessories in one package, ideal for a quick start into LoRaWAN development. The version with 4G adds a cellular backhaul, so the kit can also run without a fixed internet connection.

USB Adapter & Arduino Shield (LA66)

The LA66 LoRaWAN USB Adapter V2 brings LoRaWAN connectivity to a PC or gateway via USB and is well suited for developing, testing, and capturing traffic. The LA66 LoRaWAN Shield equips Arduino-compatible boards with LoRaWAN, handy for your own prototypes.

Antenna (BLG-AN-040)

The BLG-AN-040 fiberglass antenna is a 40 cm outdoor antenna with 3 dB gain for 868 MHz, improving the range and reception of LoRaWAN devices.

Gateway Concentrator (PG1302)

The PG1302 LoRaWAN Concentrator is an 868 MHz concentrator module (for example, for Raspberry Pi) that lets you build your own LoRaWAN gateways.

IoT Modules & Appliances

The M328W wireless IoT module and the Pan Model D WiFi Outdoor IoT Appliance round out the range with compact radio and WiFi building blocks for custom IoT projects.

Typical applications

Prototyping & development

Development kits, USB adapters, and shields enable the quick setup and testing of your own LoRaWAN applications, from the first sensor node to a finished solution.

Building your own gateways

With the PG1302 concentrator, you can build custom LoRaWAN gateways, for example based on a Raspberry Pi.

Optimizing range & reception

The right antenna improves the radio range of sensors and gateways, especially outdoors.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Dragino Developer Tools

Here we answer some questions about our developer tools & modules. If you'd like personal advice beyond this, get in touch via our contact form.

A LoRaWAN Development Kit bundles the key components, usually a gateway, sensors, and accessories, into one package. This makes it quick to set up a complete LoRaWAN environment and use it for development, testing, or training.

The LA66 USB Adapter brings LoRaWAN to a PC or gateway via USB and is well suited for development and testing. The LA66 Shield equips Arduino-compatible boards with LoRaWAN and is ideal for your own prototypes.

A concentrator is the radio core of a LoRaWAN gateway: it receives signals from multiple sensors simultaneously. With the PG1302 (868 MHz), you can build your own gateway, for example together with a Raspberry Pi.

For outdoor use, an antenna tuned to 868 MHz such as the BLG-AN-040 with 3 dB gain is a good fit. It improves the range and reception quality of LoRaWAN devices.
