Teensy 4.0 Development Board

The Teensy 4.0 development board (TEENSY40) features a 600 MHz ARM Cortex-M7 processor with an NXP iMXRT1062 chip.

At 600 MHz, the Teensy 4.0 draws approximately 100 mA.

The Teensy 4.0 supports dynamic clock scaling. Unlike conventional microcontrollers, where changing the clock frequency leads to incorrect baud rates and other problems, the Teensy 4.0 hardware's and Teensyduino software's support for the Arduino timing functions is designed to allow dynamic speed changes. Serial baud rates, audio streaming sample rates and Arduino functions such as delay() and millis(), as well as Teensyduino extensions such as IntervalTimer and elapsedMillis, continue to work properly while the CPU changes speed.

The Teensy 4.0 also offers a power-off function. By connecting a pushbutton to the On / Off pin, the 3.3 V power supply can be completely disabled by holding the button for 5 seconds. A short press of the button turns it back on. If a coin cell is connected to VBAT, the Teensy 4.0's RTC continues to keep track of date and time even when the device is powered off.

The Teensy 4.0 can also be overclocked well beyond 600 MHz!
