Description
The LIDAR Lite is a compact high-performance optical distance measurement sensor from Garmin. The LIDAR Lite is ideal if you need a compact but reliable and powerful proximity sensor, for example, when operating a drone, robot or other unmanned vehicle.
The sensor can be accessed via a standard I2C or PWM interface at a distance of up to 40 metres. The LIDAR Lite has an edge-emitting, 905nm (75um, 1 Watt, 4 mrad, 14mm optics), single-strip laser transmitter and an SMD pin, 3° FOV with 14mm optics receiver. The third version of the LIDAR Lite sensor continues to operate at 5V DC and with a current draw of 130 mA.
The sensor can operate at a measurement rate of up to 500 readings per second while providing higher resolution for scanning applications.
Note: The LIDAR-Lite has been classified as a Class 1 laser! Please avoid tampering with the optics or the housing and do not look directly into the laser beam during operation!
