Description
The biosignal splux electroencephalography (EEG) sensor was specifically developed for classical and localized EEG measurement applications. This single-channel EEG sensor is ideally suited for experimental setups where an EEG cap is too disruptive, only a limited number of EEG channels are required, or multiple sensor types are used in combination with localized EEG monitoring.
The bipolar configuration with two measuring electrodes records the electrical potentials in a specific area of the scalp and is used in combination with a reference electrode placed at an area of low muscle activity. The resulting signal is the amplified difference between these two signals and reflects the electrical activity of the brain in the monitored area of the scalp.
This sensor enables non-invasive, unobtrusive and localized EEG monitoring, which can be used, for example, to track changes in brain activity as a result of visual or auditory stimuli.
