Description
The Biosignalsplux Electroencephalography (EEG) sensor was specifically developed for classic and localized EEG measurement applications. This single-channel EEG sensor is ideal for experimental setups where an EEG cap is too cumbersome, only a limited number of EEG channels are required, or multiple sensor types are used in combination with localized EEG monitoring.
The bipolar configuration, with two measurement electrodes, captures electrical potentials in a specific area of the scalp and is used in combination with a reference electrode placed at a site with low muscle activity. The resulting signal is the amplified difference between these two signals and is the outcome of the electrical activity of the brain in the monitored area of the scalp.
This sensor enables non-invasive, unobtrusive, and localized EEG monitoring, which can be used, for example, to track changes in brain activity due to visual or auditory stimuli.
