Description
The weather-resistant, self-cleaning SCXL-MaxSonar-WR sensor is a rugged ultrasonic sensor. This outdoor sensor offers very short to long range measurements and a compact, rugged PVC housing. The ultrasonic sensor meets the IP67 water ingress standard and fits standard 3/4-inch PVC electrical conduit fittings.
The MB7589 SCXL-MaxSonar-WRMT features a self-cleaning transducer to remove condensation and ice buildup during cold operation. The MB759 SCXL-MaxSonar-WRMT self-cleaning sensor is equipped with filter firmware that ignores smaller targets and noise while still reporting the range to the target that reflects the largest ultrasonic signal. The sensor also rejects periodic noise, even if the noise has a higher amplitude than the acoustic return from the target. This gives the user the flexibility to continuously detect larger targets in the presence of overflow and noise. As the largest target is removed from the field of view, the sensor switches to the target with the next largest detectable reflection.
The "Most Likely" filter reports the distance to the largest acoustic reflection, while ignoring smaller targets. If targets have a similar amplitude reflection, the closest target is given priority.
