Why LoRaWAN rollouts take so much time in practice

In theory, onboarding a LoRaWAN sensor is explained quickly: Enter DevEUI, AppEUI, and AppKey into the network, switch on the device, done. In practice, it looks different:

1. Different labeling

Manufacturers handle labeling differently. Dragino includes the DevEUI and AppEUI as a separate sticker in the packaging, while other manufacturers place the information directly on the device, packaging, or in a QR code.

• GWID (for gateways)
• MAC address (for gateways)
• IMEI (for NB-IoT enabled devices)
