The US company Pololu Robotics & Electronics, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, specialises in the development and manufacture of universal electronic and mechanical components that are suitable for building robots, for example, but also for many other devices. History of origin: Pololu
The company was founded in 2000: three students from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) developed an IR beacon system for several thousand autonomous robots for a competition. The system allowed the robots to recognise each other, enabling more sophisticated strategies. The beacon system subsequently became the first Pololu product. The US manufacturer's target group ranges from robotics developers and hobbyists to universities and schools.
