The XL-MaxSonar-EZ4 has the highest noise tolerance and narrowest beam of any MaxBotix indoor sensor. The sensor is designed and calibrated to provide reliable long-range target distance information for large targets, even in environments with strong acoustic or electrical noise sources.
The sensor is small, but the high acoustic output power combined with continuously variable gain, real-time automatic background calibration, real-time real-time waveform signature analysis and noise reduction algorithms result in almost noise-free distance measurements. This also applies in the presence of many different acoustic or electrical noise sources. The XL-MaxSonar EZ sensor line is factory-aligned to the sensor's beam patterns and provides long-range detection.
